This year there is a very exciting five day programme of events to Terryglass. With a variety of arts events, performances and visual arts experiences, the festival provides the opportunity to let your creative side run free. The festival is organised by a small voluntary committee which works enthusiastically all year round to make each festival bigger and better. It has now become an established event on the Irish arts festivals calendar, with a loyal and discerning following travelling from near and far.
The continued support we receive from our sponsors, local community and businesses is unparalleled and we would like to thank everybody who contributed to this year’s programme. In turn we would ask people to support our sponsors without whom the festival would not take place.
Niall de Búrca kicks off the festival with a wonderful night of storytelling straight after the festival launch on Wednesday. Thursday we have a fantastic night’s entertainment with Jack Wise who, with his unique combination of comedy and magic, will have you on the edge of your seat and trying not to fall off laughing. The Gala Concert in the church this year is an evening with singer/songwriter Paddy Casey, whilst Saturday night at The Quay we have something extra special planned with the return of aerial artists Fidget Feet for an unbelievable performance ahead of the annual fireworks display. The Heritage Boat Association will also join in at the event as they light up their boats. And don’t forget the Family Fun Day on Sunday for a great day out, whatever the weather!
With events ranging from workshops, stunning visual arts to live music (and so much more in between) throughout the village, the festival is a wonderful celebration of the arts, creativity, talent, inspiration and enjoyment and has something to offer all ages and interests.
