Creating spaces for our guests to find their own ‘personal space’ is central to our vision here at Fuchisa Lane Farm.   This year has seen us create more native woodlands and opening up existing ones to enable guests and clients to find quiet, reflective spaces in nature. 

Just last week, as we designed a new space, Inez spotted a large rock in the brambles.  We pulled it out and were amazed at all the history one could see in the embedded fossils on its surface.  It is the perfect shape for a ‘sit-spot’ and we now invite everyone to share this experience!  

As we work with nature and the ‘treasures beneath our feet’ we are also reclaiming our native language and allowing that to tell the story of the land.  ‘Lig do scíoth’ translates into ‘allow yourself to rest’  We find this interesting! It is not a command to ‘take a rest’ or to’ sit down’. Rather it is more of a gentle suggestion to ‘allow oneself’.  Resting on this particular stone seat connects one back millenia to the time when all this land was covered by the ocean. This helps bring perspective!
