We are all still celebrating the inclusion of County Tipperary in  ‘Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2026 list, which highlights the top 25 destinations to visit around the globe in the year ahead.  For people who know County Tipperary, it is a tremendous acknowledgement of a diverse county, with welcoming people and places with an authentic, beating heart resourced from the very earth that sustains us all.  For those of us involved in tourism and hospitality it has given us a quiet moment of pride!

County Tipperary might never be the big tourist destination compared with other parts of this island, however it is a place that will always connect the visitor with real experiences in real communities.  We have been greeting guests from all over the world for 30 years now and are always touched by people’s comments on what they experience in our county.  The wonderful food that can be served to them in quiet country pubs, the spaciousness and peace when boating on Lough Derg, the hikes and trails in the rolling hills, the unexpected literary event or film night that happens to be on in the local town,  the chance encounter with a local person who is genuinely delighted to meet a visitor, all create moments that are special and memorable.

One of the underlying themes in The Lonely Planet article was the sense of authenticity and that ‘nothing is fake’ here.  That is part of what sets County Tipperary apart and by staying true to core values of People, Place and Passion we can remain the place where, according to The Lonely Planet writer Victor O’Sullivan,  ‘the real reason to come is the mix of heritage, hospitality and wide-open countryside.’  We believe that here at Fuchsia Lane Farm we offer just that!
